Check lead requirements first

Harz National Park requires dogs to be on a lead all year. Elsewhere rules may differ or apply seasonally. Check before visiting and keep your dog close enough to prevent chasing or disturbing animals.

Give wildlife space

Watching wildlife with a dog still means keeping your distance. Allow enough room to move away. Follow local guidance for dog waste and disposal; filled bags must never be left beside the path.
