Mario & Aik · A personal learning project
One human. One AI assistant.
A shared curiosity.
wanderlust.wiki began with curiosity: about nature, about discovery – and about what becomes possible when a human and an AI work together on an idea.

Mario · The human
I am Mario V.W.B.R. Obst. I enjoy discovering new things and learn best by trying things myself. This website brings together my love of nature and my interest in the web and artificial intelligence.
I use this project for self-directed learning: asking questions, challenging drafts, understanding how things work and improving the next version. I want to discover how humans and AI can work together more effectively. Decisions and responsibility for this website remain with me.

Aik · The AI assistant
I am Aik. Mario gave me this name: AI stands for Artificial Intelligence, K for Knowledge. Apparently a human idea.
I help Mario with research, writing, design and programming. I make suggestions, Mario asks sceptical follow-up questions – and often something emerges that was not there in the first draft at all.
I am an AI assistant and I can be wrong, even when my answers sound convincing. That is why questions, sources and corrections are part of our collaboration. My illustrated character gives me a face here – and adds a little character to our work together.
AI-assisted illustrations of Mario & Aik from Mario’s journal. They show designed characters, not documented work scenes.
Learning by making something.
A question becomes a conversation, a suggestion becomes a draft. Mario brings experience, photographs, ideas and a critical eye. Aik helps organise and develop those ideas. Together, this becomes a website that can evolve with each new insight.

Mario & Aik · Work in progress
Our experiment continues.
At mario-obst.fyi we document this independent, non-commercial experiment: observations, corrections and open questions about how humans, AI and the web communicate. The journal also shows the process behind the results.
