Dry weather: avoid a careless spark

A beautiful break needs no fire.

A risk level is not permission

The German Weather Service’s forest fire index describes weather-related risk in five levels. It does not replace local prohibitions or permissions. Check current guidance from the responsible forestry or protected-area authority.

Small flames count too

Harz National Park, for example, prohibits open fires and camping stoves. Our simple outing idea: bring food that needs no heating and avoid flames. Permission to use a fire site elsewhere must be checked locally.
